<br />
We are often looking for yummy but healthy snacks for in between meals and this is one of our favorites. And it's super fast and simple. Just throw some slices of avocado <i>(I like my slices pretty thick)</i> onto a slice of toast and sprinkle on some kosher salt. Now you could leave it just like that and it tastes really good. However we like to drizzle on some <span style="color: blue;"><a href="http://www.bolthouse.com/product/salsaranch" target="_blank">Bolthouse Farms Yogurt Dressing - Salsa Ranch flavor.</a> </span>If I ever track anything, I tend to pay attention to calories. So one perk to using this is the enormous difference in calories. Hidden Valley ranch dressing has 140 calories in 2 tablespoons. Bolthouse Yogurt dressing has 45 calories in 2 tablespoons. That's 95 calories folks!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXIys49NHCzsCs5zZWak8ZHpuUGOtgdQbDQRDEyyiNzhomeLQr5riwBgrHRvT0bv9c4qnQMgTqnt5JXu2B8l6AAwUL-6pnfJsyOPZ15oSlfjnTcfgtuIKbL1yELXOneOTlBm0aoHk2BWcg/s1600/DSC_1974.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXIys49NHCzsCs5zZWak8ZHpuUGOtgdQbDQRDEyyiNzhomeLQr5riwBgrHRvT0bv9c4qnQMgTqnt5JXu2B8l6AAwUL-6pnfJsyOPZ15oSlfjnTcfgtuIKbL1yELXOneOTlBm0aoHk2BWcg/s640/DSC_1974.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
And in case anyone else is thinking it, it turns out that it's pretty hard to get a yummy looking picture of your toast when your salad dressing just glops out of the bottle. So gloppy...but so delicious!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-814030881262997690.post-65393918660630611102013-08-16T23:15:00.000-05:002013-08-16T23:20:33.697-05:00Strappeachini Juice<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
In case you didn't catch it, that stands for strawberry-apple-peach-zucchini juice. This is one of our favorite recipes. For those who are concerned about tasting vegetables, you can't taste the zucchini <b><i>at all</i></b>. This is a very light and fruity tasting juice.<br />
<br />
This recipe made 4 cups of juice. Simply add to your juicer 1 zucchini, 2 yellow peaches (chopped up into large pieces - <b>do not add the pit</b>), 2 gala apples, and 10 strawberries.<br />
<br />
This is what you're left with! Give it a good stir and chug down those nutrients!<br />

<br />
For the majority of juicers, all of this rings true:<br />
1. Turn your juicer on and let it run for about 10-15 seconds to let it warm up.<br />
2. Unless your fruit has a pit, you can throw the whole fruit in - leaves, stems, skin and all. I do like to remove produce stickers though. :)<br />
3. For citrus fruits (lemon, limes, and oranges), you might want to remove the skin. Otherwise your juice will have a relatively bitter taste.<br />
4. Never run avocados or bananas through your juicer. If you want to add these to your juice, make your juice first and then <i style="font-weight: bold;">blend</i> in your banana or avocado.<br />
5. When you're finished, let your juicer run for 10-15 seconds to ensure all the juice has gotten out. We've started washing our juicer right away. It's much easier to clean while the pulp is still wet.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-814030881262997690.post-51893404388198190152013-08-15T13:27:00.001-05:002013-08-15T14:04:19.914-05:00Lemon-Rosemary Simmer<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
My house stinks. Well, not anymore. But it did. As if there were an old diaper hiding somewhere. Which sadly is a very likely possibility....<br />
<br />
But this. This helped. My husband even walked in the front door and said, "That smells so stinkin' good!" and immediately realized what an oxymoron that is.<br />
<br />
All you need is:<br />
~ 4 cups of water<br />
~ 2ish tablespoons of dried rosemary<br />
~ 1 tablespoon vanilla<br />
~ 1 lemon, sliced<br />
<br />
Mix all of those things together and bring to a boil. Let it boil for a few minutes, reduce the heat to simmer, and let it sit. When you notice the water is a little low, just add a little bit more!<br />
<br />
Apparently, this can simmer all day if you want. I've had mine simmering for a few hours now. Every now and then I give it a little stir when I walk by. So easy and smells so good!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-814030881262997690.post-81738720380717194732013-08-13T14:03:00.000-05:002013-08-13T14:07:27.148-05:00Oven Baked Chicken Nuggets<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I've had a hard time finding oven baked chicken nuggets that I really like but these actually fit the bill. Even my 10 month old son ate SIX of them...the same amount as his 3 year old sister. The teenage years are going to kill us.<br />
<br />
Ingredients:<br />
~ 1/4 cup all-purpose flour<br />
~ 1 egg, lightly beaten<br />
~ 1 cup bread crumbs <i>(I used Italian style)</i><br />
~ 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese <i>(I used a fresh block of Parmesan over my zester)</i><br />
~ 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning<br />
~ salt and pepper<br />
~ 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces <i>(I used thin-sliced chicken breasts)</i><br />
~ cooking spray<br />
<br />
1. Preheat your oven to 400. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.<br />
2. Place flour in a shallow bowl. Place egg in second shallow bowl. Combine bread crumbs, cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in third shallow bowl.<br />
3. Dip each piece of chicken into flour, then in egg, then roll in bread crumb mixture. Place on prepared baking sheet. Spray chicken with cooking spray.<br />
4. Bake for 25 minutes or until nuggets are browned and cooked through.<br />

A while back JP saw a man-cave pillow and he immediately pinned it. I feel like those things should not be in the same sentence. Pinterest is a woman's world. Go back to Craigslist, JP. ;) As with most things, we decided to make it ourselves instead of buy it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Freezer paper stenciling is easy peasy. We chose to stencil a throw pillow cover that we bought at Hobby Lobby when they were 50% off. We spent a whopping $3 on the cover. I can't remember all the prices of the other items needed so I can't provide a cost break down. I can tell you it won't cost you $25-$50 like it would if you bought them off Etsy. A dear friend made Big Bro and Big Sis shirts for her kiddos. The possibilities are seemingly endless!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For a pillow, all you need is:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Freezer paper (which surprisingly only comes in gigantic rolls...)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Pillow cover</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Poly-Fil</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Fabric paint (we found ours at WalMart)</div>

<br />
These kale chips are super yummy and much healthier than the regular potato chip alternative. And they're super easy to make. So it's a win-win-win.<br />
<br />
Ingredients:<br />
~ kale (we like to use the pre-chopped kind)<br />
~ olive oil<br />
~ sea salt<br />
~ pepper<br />
~ garlic powder<br />
<br />
1. Preheat your oven to 375. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. We've really found this is key to getting them all crunchy. At least for us it is.<br />
2. Spread the kale into an even layer over the parchment paper. It cooks down a lot so really pile it on there.<br />
<br />
Ours went from this...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNCM3iRuFP9vGg5ohKuTBHEFrPuAOiY4uzSsQQdN92Es14wNHwBdfOHX6f4sYZF8J-YbHJJSWoykiYugnuBqmPPO93LlWcaUgXmWBWJ6omtOCc0dc-HWax7cWBsEYS7vpoo_51dRo7jmkU/s1600/DSC_1467.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNCM3iRuFP9vGg5ohKuTBHEFrPuAOiY4uzSsQQdN92Es14wNHwBdfOHX6f4sYZF8J-YbHJJSWoykiYugnuBqmPPO93LlWcaUgXmWBWJ6omtOCc0dc-HWax7cWBsEYS7vpoo_51dRo7jmkU/s640/DSC_1467.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
to this...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUhcyn34i3oG6Wt_B6LIGUU-sJ44nfOmdpM0TsjPVnXslJm71SaZl3pR7ngzwEuYOkNOrssTTk2DeZr-UsifMT5fi2z5B2aNgBMHEFB_Rg3kD_y_PTY4Hk12aMo6U8EGrC-FGrcqri0DOX/s1600/DSC_1475.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUhcyn34i3oG6Wt_B6LIGUU-sJ44nfOmdpM0TsjPVnXslJm71SaZl3pR7ngzwEuYOkNOrssTTk2DeZr-UsifMT5fi2z5B2aNgBMHEFB_Rg3kD_y_PTY4Hk12aMo6U8EGrC-FGrcqri0DOX/s640/DSC_1475.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
3. Drizzle olive oil on top and toss the kale around on the baking sheet.<br />
4. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder all over. <i>(Be careful with the garlic powder...a little goes a long way!)</i><br />
5. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until crispy.<br />
<br />
And that's it! Crunch away!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-814030881262997690.post-76354621198111139442013-06-03T17:30:00.000-05:002013-06-03T17:42:12.205-05:00Cheddar-Apple Rice<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
This rice is one of our all-time favorite sides...and one that we don't make often enough. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Now listen to me very carefully. Unless you L-O-V-E the taste of dill, follow the fresh herb measurements exactly. After making this a couple of times, I decided I wanted to make it for my family. With a combination of being a little too confident and wanting to look like a fancy cook who just throws things together in a food processor, I added WAY too much dill, thus, completely grossing out my family and therefore deterring them from ever trying it again. Including, at the time, my newly pregnant sister who was already battling morning sickness. I <b>literally</b> forced her to eat some. <i>(My bad, Kare-bear...) </i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So heed my warning and you will love this as much as we do!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
~ 2 tablespoons of butter</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
~ 1 1/4 cups long-grain white rice</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
~ 2 1/4 cups chicken stock, divided</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
~ 1 honeycrisp, gala, or golden delicious apple - seeded and chopped</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
~ 3/4 cup packed flat-leaf parsley</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
~ 1/4 cup packed fresh dill</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
~ 1 6oz. brick sharp white cheddar cheese, cut into small 1/4 inch cubes</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
1. In a large saucepan with a tight-fitting lid, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the rice and toast for a minute or two.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2. Add 2 cups of chicken stock and bring to a boil. Lower the heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
3. Add the apple and simmer for 8 minutes.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
4. While the rice cooks, using a food processor, combine 1/4 cup chicken stock, the parsley, dill, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until finely chopped. Stir into the rice during the last minute of cooking.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
5. Turn off the heat and let the rice stand, covered, for a couple of minutes before fluffing with a fork. Stir in the cheese cubes, cover, and allow the cheese to get good and melted before serving.</div>

Our Alabama-house house tour continues...and seeing that it's been more than a month since my last post, it's apparently happening in very slow motion. Ever since a certain toddler in my life dropped her naptime, my time to blog is sometimes hard to find. I'm sure I'll figure life out again. </div>

Onward into the kitchen. Unfortunately these are the only before photos I could find, and they're from the week we moved in. I never imagined we'd really do anything to make it over, and even still we didn't do much, but I'm glad we did.</div>

After a fresh coat of paint, installing some beadboard, hanging new curtains, raising the light over the table, re-covering the chairs, installing some under cabinet lights and throwing some backsplash on the wall, we were left with this.....<br />

This room had functioned as almost every type of room you can imagine. First it was a storage room, then an office, then a guest room, and finally (my favorite) a little boy's nursery. Because we knew we would be moving shortly after his birth, we didn't do everything we wanted to do. For example, we wanted to hang a floating shelf with an industrial style bar attached to the bottom to act as a closet. However, we gave Eli's room just enough awesome to officially welcome him into our family.</div>

As we're getting ready to make the big move to Kansas, I want to make sure that I have done a good job documenting our first real home. Especially since this is the house that we brought our first 2 children home to, I want them to be able to look back at this precious time in our lives.<br />
<br />
When we lived in Texas, for the first time in our married lives we were allowed to paint the walls in our house. The day we signed for our on-post house, we drove immediately to Wal-Mart and picked our colors. It was like letting 2 children loose in the paint store, presenting them with little colorful pieces of cardstock that have funny, whimsical names on them like "Nacho Chip"<i> (living room)</i> and "Wetlands" <i>(master bedroom)</i> and "Blueberry Sauce" <i>(guest room)</i> and then buying those children all of the paint their ambitious little hearts desire. These were our paint color choices...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1MDVluMNaTJnXYLa1Y13FOCQfGaJr2MwQ44Y8Lr7qTF-9iHVYJneFgjtNayvX8OQOIebrPKJaBPNaO5BuZpjTpxVAhTJlfzvatF5S6EzHDsZ2vgiV6vgtxqiT5Yf6ZKi0kMxrPgiVbCTB/s1600/TX+Paint+Colors.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1MDVluMNaTJnXYLa1Y13FOCQfGaJr2MwQ44Y8Lr7qTF-9iHVYJneFgjtNayvX8OQOIebrPKJaBPNaO5BuZpjTpxVAhTJlfzvatF5S6EzHDsZ2vgiV6vgtxqiT5Yf6ZKi0kMxrPgiVbCTB/s400/TX+Paint+Colors.jpg" width="311" /></a></div>
<br />
I could not stop laughing as I put that collage together. Can you taste our rainbow? <br />
<br />
I must add, at the same time of our paint color frenzy, our friends/neighbors Mike and Faith had picked one color and did different shades of that color. We thought they were crazy. Turns out they were on to something...<br />
<br />
Now we certainly are not professionals at this home decor biz, but I like to think we've improved a little bit. We bought our Alabama home from an interior designer who painted the walls great shades of browns and tans. However with the combination of changing tastes, the fact that they used flat paint (which I learned is impossible to clean), and because we will be renting out our home, we've decided to repaint every room in the house. This time we'll be leaning more towards grays, still keeping it pretty neutral.<br />
<br />
As I begin to post the different rooms in our home, you'll be able to see the color of the walls when we moved in and the new colors we choose. <br />
<br />
Like I said, we're not professionals. It won't be perfect, it's not everyone's cup o' tea...but we can call it ours and we love it.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-814030881262997690.post-21998237172409123902013-02-25T16:38:00.000-06:002013-02-25T16:56:21.039-06:00Entertainment Center = Play KitchenThis is an old project that I never shared but it has been a big hit with our little girl. <br />

Last year, we turned this:<br />

<br />
<br />
It was actually a very easy project that only took a couple of days to complete and very little money since we had several of the materials on hand. Even though you might not find an entertainment center just like this one, I'll give the break down of how we did it.<br />
<br />
We found our entertainment center at a local thrift store. Before we painted it, we removed the middle piece, cut out the holes for the sink and stove top, and sanded it just enough to rough it up a little bit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidEFFuD9pl5IFaKli1-AibAlv5Hw2sPirvuhmoocaGwEOgEzjOySwU2I_wflW5eWyozVS6pvzBALmw66tbFcCMhs3jU7R2jGr93RTalUmKjmtFA4rJrP4I2QDoa3NjwkCnHr1twStlyqNy/s1600/DSCN0028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidEFFuD9pl5IFaKli1-AibAlv5Hw2sPirvuhmoocaGwEOgEzjOySwU2I_wflW5eWyozVS6pvzBALmw66tbFcCMhs3jU7R2jGr93RTalUmKjmtFA4rJrP4I2QDoa3NjwkCnHr1twStlyqNy/s400/DSCN0028.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
The sink was a dog bowl we found at Big Lots for just a couple of dollars and the faucet we found on clearance at Home Depot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3isVvpAFKgbft9JM8etR_PZlvo40QMGME3Dqi_E7ATHRAnXRYFOX5Km1fzyCJrQNiBhDJ_-TlO-hor7xR9oWqS6DRcJgzH3g8BcDWBPHX___VHkRE5XowO88WQGQyj9UQiqjEJHkIHcCV/s1600/DSC_0203.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3isVvpAFKgbft9JM8etR_PZlvo40QMGME3Dqi_E7ATHRAnXRYFOX5Km1fzyCJrQNiBhDJ_-TlO-hor7xR9oWqS6DRcJgzH3g8BcDWBPHX___VHkRE5XowO88WQGQyj9UQiqjEJHkIHcCV/s400/DSC_0203.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We found the stove top at Habitat for Humanity ReStore and the countertop is made of peel-and-stick linoleum tiles from Home Depot. The stove knobs came from our old grill.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIKwcXcUtNdrnv28QfxMHDnmXszEyRgGhSPx0KEzUVWa2ugpn_GYbx5Xh_FJLAbBh2HqTYlqevsTrVEofnlLYQywkjv8_YJq5EqxzF6dmjT5Dy4ic5Avm9CfpkUv-AGeGXPnnJGLvzxb3x/s1600/DSC_0210.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIKwcXcUtNdrnv28QfxMHDnmXszEyRgGhSPx0KEzUVWa2ugpn_GYbx5Xh_FJLAbBh2HqTYlqevsTrVEofnlLYQywkjv8_YJq5EqxzF6dmjT5Dy4ic5Avm9CfpkUv-AGeGXPnnJGLvzxb3x/s400/DSC_0210.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We cut a rectangle out of the left-side door, attached a piece of plastic from Home Depot to the inside with 4 screws, switched the hinges from the side to the bottom to make it more like an oven door, painted the inside black and added a cabinet handle (courtesy of <a href="http://www.sweethomehelena.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Anna</a>), hot glued the temperature gauge from our old grill above the door and voila! An oven! <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Karlie keeps all of her kitchen supplies and food inside the pantry. While we were sanding, we removed the back support piece, painted the left side of it black (since that would be an oven wall) and wrapped the right side in burlap (since it would be seen inside the pantry.)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The curtains were made with scraps of material from dresses I've made Karlie. I took strips of material, sewed ruffles into them, and hot glued them onto the curtains. We hung them by stapling them to the back.</div>

This shrimp is very tasty and is one of the quicker crock-pot meals I've made - 3 hours in the pot. <br />
<br />
The recipe is very simple, plus I already had a lot of the ingredients in my pantry! It was originally intended as an appetizer but I served ours as an entree with rice and veggies. We also poured the sauce over the shrimp and rice for extra flavor. What can I say...we like to live on the wild side. We're animals I tell ya!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ingredients:</div>
~ 3/4 cup butter or margarine<br />
~ 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce<br />
~ 1/3 cup lemon juice<br />
~ 1/4 cup dry white wine<br />
~ 2 tablespoons hot sauce<i> (I used 1 tablespoon since we have a toddler)</i><br />
~ 2 teaspoons ground pepper<br />
~ 1 tablespoon seafood seasoning <i>(I used Weber Boston Bay Seafood Seasoning)</i><br />
~ 1 teaspoon paprika<br />
~ 1/2 teaspoon salt<br />
~ 4 cloves garlic, minced<br />
~ 2 sprigs fresh thyme<br />
~ 2 lbs. uncooked large shrimp <i>(I bought mine frozen, peeled, deveined, and without tails)</i><br />
~ lemon wedges<i> (I didn't use these)</i><br />
<br />
1. Spray 5- to 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In slow cooker, mix all ingredients except shrimp and lemon wedges. Cover; cook on low heat for 2 hours.<br />
<br />
2. Stir shrimp into slow cooker. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook 30 minutes longer or until shrimp are pink. Turn off slow cooker. Let stand for 30 minutes. Discard thyme sprigs. Serve shrimp with lemon wedges.<br />

A lot of you will recognize this kind of picture:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaDyu3W8AOSPxIJ1LQn2T4zpAS199i6EvXIIX5FmyZIHY-mC6ZW6zhNajkPu3827AqM2qlWc0_b-Fi1Y_EcHUQ-ImuWD4aaqAKrWSZGrwXHwftRAy_DSKh9TFPkL5bMN0PS69OeGcWGEZz/s1600/31d9114a5d5ca2be897bd21d00a3f313.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaDyu3W8AOSPxIJ1LQn2T4zpAS199i6EvXIIX5FmyZIHY-mC6ZW6zhNajkPu3827AqM2qlWc0_b-Fi1Y_EcHUQ-ImuWD4aaqAKrWSZGrwXHwftRAy_DSKh9TFPkL5bMN0PS69OeGcWGEZz/s400/31d9114a5d5ca2be897bd21d00a3f313.jpg" width="323" /></a></div>
<br />
I dragged my feet a little on this one but when Kelly over at <a href="http://www.viewalongtheway.com/2013/02/hey-girl-come-link-up/" target="_blank">View Along the Way</a> had a "Hey Girl" link up party, I knew I wanted to participate. All you had to do was take your favorite picture of your own man and "Hey Girl-ify" it. However all of the pictures I wanted to use were on our laptop which was in Georgia with my Hey-Girl Husband. So, I'm a little late but I had a lot of fun doing these and couldn't stop at just one.<br />

<br />
For the first time since joining Pinterest, I used my own brain power and came up with an idea. <br />
<br />
I even searched Pinterest to see if there is anything like this on there and I found nothing. Woo to the hoo!<br />
<br />
You know those plastic diaper wipe containers that belong in your diaper bag but you usually feel too lazy to refill them so you throw them away? <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzp0mkMJAsjR_THkMudxVL6Hf0ibq_nKqd5jMRMOAWFQ-Xy3OtXteiisICX1hZzHFmVNQMyFYjh_XZ6Tbcncfwr0X2mlWyctjNiWAtJbuACGsqt_bbfF3eTHQxIYAjTEf1pzx7xY5v2EW0/s1600/DSCN0025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzp0mkMJAsjR_THkMudxVL6Hf0ibq_nKqd5jMRMOAWFQ-Xy3OtXteiisICX1hZzHFmVNQMyFYjh_XZ6Tbcncfwr0X2mlWyctjNiWAtJbuACGsqt_bbfF3eTHQxIYAjTEf1pzx7xY5v2EW0/s640/DSCN0025.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Well stop throwing them away! OK, at least keep one. <br />
These things make excellent hairbow storage for roadtrips. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk5TPYDxpQFdo1w3Qbn2fMQZqixikh9TdTpIn9Yl4EcY9POWfbUW8QlRaaRcveRJHCZA_893LaPHPbVbWmu3XUi4g_7HqyH_v0Q5O5lpg-DYWUcWZawgHbEQSbrafbwOVn5d3t4NsVErar/s1600/DSCN0027.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk5TPYDxpQFdo1w3Qbn2fMQZqixikh9TdTpIn9Yl4EcY9POWfbUW8QlRaaRcveRJHCZA_893LaPHPbVbWmu3XUi4g_7HqyH_v0Q5O5lpg-DYWUcWZawgHbEQSbrafbwOVn5d3t4NsVErar/s640/DSCN0027.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
They stay in one spot and they don't get crushed!<br />

A holiday hurricane swept through and left behind dead fraser fir needles, scraps of wrapping paper, empty suitcases, mountains of laundry, and crusty food on dishes piled in the sink. Slowly but surely we're crossing things off our list. And as much as I miss our tree and my <a href="http://www.jpandjamie.blogspot.com/2011/12/no-sew-ruffle-tree-skirt.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">ruffled tree skirt</span></a>, I love how big our living room seems.<br />

Things got nice and steamy in there and loosened up all the gunk. When the 5 minutes were up, I sprayed a cloth with 409 and wiped everything away. I had to put a little bit of scrubbing into it but it was a quick clean.</div>

That, my friend, is what we like to call calcium build-up. Disgusting right? To all those who eat at my house and just saw that...I am SO sorry.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We took that bowl of hot lemon water, added 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar, and make a nice little bath for our faucet. We removed the faucet and let it sit in the lemon-vinegar water for a long time. I forgot to time it. Maybe an hour? </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When that hour(ish) was up, we used a scrub brush to remove all the calcium build-up and were left with this:</div>

<br />
I saw <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/211528513717665775/" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">this pin</span></a> on Pinterest and finally got around to doing it. <br />
<br />
All you need is:<br />
~ a really messy spot<br />
~ a diaper box<br />
~ some light colored paint<br />
~ hot glue<br />
~ around 1 yard of burlap<br />
~ ribbon<br />
~ embellishments <i>(optional - it looks cute with just the ribbon)</i><br />
~ a smart and sassy Brit <i>(this is not necessary but I had one spending the night at my house the day I did this project and I really liked it. She also gave me a manicure that's lasting longer than when I paint my own nails. She deserves her very own blog post...I'll start working on that.)</i><br />
<br />
Choose your messy area. Mine was our hall closet. We had gloves, hats, scarves, leashes, and board games thrown into a heaping pile on a not-so-level shelf. It got to the point when something would fall, I would cram the fallen item on the floor behind our vacuum. Outta sight, outta mind.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPiVtRBKiesQYpdL8DVv0Wz2BnxrTM8yGKvry6pJ2QqO_OjDkA1i9mm9vH4ZvJ3DrffmtibZpfyyJSYIBZ34nMCprU8z4Yi36dnR96JF-Hl7zBrkVg7vBRz6j7-4-Vqbs2nPzS_lHX1fj2/s1600/Random+Pictures+014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPiVtRBKiesQYpdL8DVv0Wz2BnxrTM8yGKvry6pJ2QqO_OjDkA1i9mm9vH4ZvJ3DrffmtibZpfyyJSYIBZ34nMCprU8z4Yi36dnR96JF-Hl7zBrkVg7vBRz6j7-4-Vqbs2nPzS_lHX1fj2/s640/Random+Pictures+014.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Start by painting your box so that any bright, multi-colored patterns don't show through the burlap. I used white acrylic paint and it actually dried super quick.<br />
<br />

<br />
Unfortunately my camera died in the middle of the wrapping process but it's easy peazy. There's not really a wrong or right way to do this. Just treat it like a present and wrap it up, using hot glue wherever and whenever you want. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I glued the first edge in the middle of one of the long sides, planning for that to be the back. Then when I folded the other side over, I folded the edge down so it left a nice crease and no raw edges were exposed. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This is where my camera died. You really just do whatever works. And of course extra burlap on the top is good. Glue it down inside the box so that you don't see the cardboard when it's holding your clutter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhz_VNucNGJb6qRZghQQgn5IGr366prgDpndC1q7VamSW-uweptEhXzwzFaSHd_7lww_vi2v-p1Mx4PhJ2sFMwuD1lyhv2izIM5ov1yENNEALl5Q9_IMaNfztVIfD0C7fwnQpDZ8zpoE2SL/s1600/photo+%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhz_VNucNGJb6qRZghQQgn5IGr366prgDpndC1q7VamSW-uweptEhXzwzFaSHd_7lww_vi2v-p1Mx4PhJ2sFMwuD1lyhv2izIM5ov1yENNEALl5Q9_IMaNfztVIfD0C7fwnQpDZ8zpoE2SL/s640/photo+%25282%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I did cut the flaps off the bottom of the box so it sits a little flatter. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRqzOwqWGuyHdpwPxUyGP0PrBw2-Tq8zYTcE9IbvjKzBs5jQqxpqRGTXZQlIBjBKMAe7em-wkgNtFE17OWwSuFg8EAVSsm4iKBS1ccsTE-9nZGc5Ma1s-QBLmMFq1h9GCWF50vsIK9HfXM/s1600/photo+%25284%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRqzOwqWGuyHdpwPxUyGP0PrBw2-Tq8zYTcE9IbvjKzBs5jQqxpqRGTXZQlIBjBKMAe7em-wkgNtFE17OWwSuFg8EAVSsm4iKBS1ccsTE-9nZGc5Ma1s-QBLmMFq1h9GCWF50vsIK9HfXM/s640/photo+%25284%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
After you're finished with your burlap, take your ribbon and glue it down. I started at the back of the box, at the seam. I put a line of glue, pressed down one edge of the ribbon, wrapped the ribbon tightly around the whole box, and glued it down once it met up with the seam again. To finish up, I added 3 felt flowers with pearl brads<i>.</i><br />

<br />
I haven't met a person yet who doesn't like this salmon. Even our toddler eats it! <br />
<br />
The original recipe calls for tilapia but we much prefer the salmon. We also don't use the onion powder or celery salt so I wrote in the substitutions that we use.<br />
<br />
Ingredients:<br />
~ 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese <i>(I like to buy a block of it and grate it myself)</i><br />
~ 1/4 cup butter, softened<br />
~ 3 tablespoons mayonnaise<br />
~ 2 tablespoons lemon juice<br />
~ 1/4 teaspoon dried basil<br />
~ 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper<br />
~ 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder<br />
~ 1/8 teaspoon sea salt<br />
~ 2 lbs. salmon<br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; line-height: 16px;"><i>We like to serve it with sweet potato cubes. Right now it's time to look back at our top 5 posts from the past year.<br />

<br />
This one made me smile. I always tell JP a sure-fire way to get people interested is to talk in intimate detail about how unhealthy you are. And sure enough, thanks to all you nosy peeps out there, here it is at #4. I will say, I don't love running yet. Before I loathed it and now I actually kinda like it...even though it's been a little too long since I've last done it.<br />

<br />
My oh my, how I love this project. I think I'll weep tears of sorrow when I have to pack away our tree skirt. I may just leave it out and find new ways to use it year round. Maybe a new skirt for myself? Or perhaps one of those rugs you put on the floor around your toilet? And then I could make a matching toilet lid cover! Ruffles all around folks!<br />

I had alot of fun with this project. This was the last BIG project that we did the whole thing together. JP and I always say DIY projects are good for a marriage. It's true.<br />

So I told him he could but it could only be 5 sentences long. I don't know why he never did. <br />
<br />
Anyway, he is the sole reason this post is ranked #1, and rightfully so. He did a wonderful job on it and we still love it!<br />

I like to be fancy like that but I am not a cake designer. Probably never will be. So when I saw one of these thingies in the baking aisle at Wal-Mart...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijtKoboZEK-FG7gSilo0-KBZP8CPtt4lopj_8WBfuF4QWp3oxphPdvPyDk6vrSnLAF68ykCFeyYB3eRe3FwjWxvzJ32ELG8h_EhwSF4dU8TtFmfTrpdtP5TilXQGjbFBjNR7Msw7zsCmnE/s1600/DSCN9412.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijtKoboZEK-FG7gSilo0-KBZP8CPtt4lopj_8WBfuF4QWp3oxphPdvPyDk6vrSnLAF68ykCFeyYB3eRe3FwjWxvzJ32ELG8h_EhwSF4dU8TtFmfTrpdtP5TilXQGjbFBjNR7Msw7zsCmnE/s640/DSCN9412.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
...it looked easy enough.<br />
<br />
It's called something like EZ Squeeze. (It was literally hanging right beside the candles, frosting-in-a-tube, and cupcake liners at Wal-Mart...) It comes with 3 different nozzles. You just fill 'er up, and squeeze it out. I started in the center and worked my way out.<br />
<br />
And she's washable.<br />
<br />
And it cost $1.00. <br />
<br />
This frosting contains 1 cup of Nutella. <br />
<br />
Need I say more? <br />
<br />
You should already be running to your kitchen to make this...because every sane woman has a stash of Nutella. Right? Well, I don't always have it...but I should.<br />
<br />
Ingredients:<br />
~ 1 cup confectioners' sugar<br />
~ 1 cup Nutella<br />
~ 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature<br />
~ 1 teaspoon vanilla extract<br />
~ 1/4 teaspoon salt<br />
~ 1/3 cup heavy cream<br />
<br />
Mix confectioners' sugar, Nutella, butter, vanilla, and salt on medium speed until creamy, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally. Add the cream and mix until the mixture is light and smooth.<br />
<br />
I used this frosting on top of mini yellow cupcakes <i>(I bought Betty Crocker brand)</i> and they were the yummiest cupcakes ever.<br />
<br />
I know I shouldn't toot my own horn but...<br />
<br />
TOOT TOOT BABY! <br />

<br />
I am in love with this tree skirt! I've been seeing them around Pinterest and finally sat down to make one. From what I've read on other blogs, if you just sit down and work until it's finished, it takes somewhere around 4-5 hours. I did <i><b>not</b></i> time myself because I knew I'd be working on it while our daughter was awake. I started on it Friday evening around 5:00 and it was finished at lunchtime on Saturday. {Karlie and I took lots of book reading/ball throwing/chocolate milk making/booty dancing breaks...all of which I highly recommend during this project}<br />
<br />
<i><b>WARNING: While this was an incredibly easy project, it was tedious. EX.TREME.LY. tedious. Some may experience thoughts like:</b></i><br />
<i>"This is taking FORever."</i><br />
<i>"I'm running out of material..."</i><br />
<i>"I don't think I have enough glue sticks."</i><br />
<i>"My back is KILLING me!"</i><br />
<i>"No, literally. I think I'm dying from back pain..."</i><br />
<i>"If those dogs shed one more hair on my ruffles..."</i><br />
<i>"Ugh....."</i><br />
<i>"Do you think two rows of ruffles is enough?"</i><br />
<i><b>All of these thoughts are normal. Don't give up! <strike>Some</strike> All of those thoughts may have come out of my mouth at some point. Just take lots of breaks and try to have fun! It will be beautiful!</b></i><br />
<br />
Here's what I used:<br />
~ 1 canvas dropcloth from Lowe's or Home Depot (you could also use a tree skirt you already have)<br />
~ 3 yards white material (I'm pretty sure it was muslin)<br />
~ 3 yards tan material (I'm not sure what it is exactly but it was sitting on the same shelf as the burlap at Joann's)<br />
~ rotary cutter (MUCH easier/faster than using scissors)<br />
~ glue gun and lots of glue sticks<br />
~ something very entertaining<br />
<br />
1. Fold your drop cloth in half, and then in half again so it is quartered.<br />
2. Fold your square in half to form a triangle.<br />
3. My husband likes to be exact so we used a tape measure and Sharpie as a compass to draw the arc where we would cut.<br />
4. Cut that line and another smaller arc down at the point.<br />
<br />

You should end up with a circle...**<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggdNfCVleoBQkq2zgKXOAetF_2vwB4vvJDcMh7umcV0DOynlyLf08op0muTIlW_o_9-_4EaicmYDyFgrroC1XnTeW-tRO4qcv7ym4WONBhiAYO3DlN8sAuhjSu8a8A-QkeDLtr30HFWd16/s1600/DSCN9363.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggdNfCVleoBQkq2zgKXOAetF_2vwB4vvJDcMh7umcV0DOynlyLf08op0muTIlW_o_9-_4EaicmYDyFgrroC1XnTeW-tRO4qcv7ym4WONBhiAYO3DlN8sAuhjSu8a8A-QkeDLtr30HFWd16/s640/DSCN9363.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
**<i>I was really hoping to be able to tell you which side of the triangle to cut but somehow we failed miserably and ended up with this....</i><br />
<i><br /></i><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2lQxprvao_IXXub9GRNkS4nijClDSKLMslQKaVqDDS8bgb9qdUIws8jQsS5hw4LE5vVYTYKekhOMv0PRJgKT7p6SAr-y8tHzoXp0iggYOfD89YcSjx2VbNHjVhFwMarTlxOZxnXP7ifAN/s1600/DSCN9362.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2lQxprvao_IXXub9GRNkS4nijClDSKLMslQKaVqDDS8bgb9qdUIws8jQsS5hw4LE5vVYTYKekhOMv0PRJgKT7p6SAr-y8tHzoXp0iggYOfD89YcSjx2VbNHjVhFwMarTlxOZxnXP7ifAN/s640/DSCN9362.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<i><br /></i><br />
<i><br /></i><br />
<i>So I had to whip out my sewing machine to sew the two half-circles together. (I could have also used hot glue) </i><br />
<br />
Begin cutting your strips of material. The length doesn't really matter but the longer the better (then you won't have to keep reaching for strips) but they need to be 3 inches wide.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2A3v3LbzGd4Ctg6JwBWseL58ZCBy2eRp80BAeycWO4lYFLHJSskbr2Qv2fNTr3oZn1v2YLxpW-Uv4Tc54mP2sSZz9HSxzvX2-ivwthJor9kulMFu_-TL9wiQWEfjausK6-ZfLIP1ys8rM/s1600/DSCN9340.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2A3v3LbzGd4Ctg6JwBWseL58ZCBy2eRp80BAeycWO4lYFLHJSskbr2Qv2fNTr3oZn1v2YLxpW-Uv4Tc54mP2sSZz9HSxzvX2-ivwthJor9kulMFu_-TL9wiQWEfjausK6-ZfLIP1ys8rM/s640/DSCN9340.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
Now set up for the long haul. This is what my work area looked like:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgerqKpDgjlLH3IcYeqKieaFyEwcVOK91ynaKW0ptAVbHgk58_GJHRp6lelnZzcXnzm-jmkmGQd95YxvA5VMBzfNIVJQlJaaQY-1dDZnBOS5I_yzFxdfAkn2nrtutpedSzWp41cCu_U-6jS/s1600/DSCN9368.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgerqKpDgjlLH3IcYeqKieaFyEwcVOK91ynaKW0ptAVbHgk58_GJHRp6lelnZzcXnzm-jmkmGQd95YxvA5VMBzfNIVJQlJaaQY-1dDZnBOS5I_yzFxdfAkn2nrtutpedSzWp41cCu_U-6jS/s400/DSCN9368.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Using a little bit of glue at a time (it dries pretty quickly) use your strips to make ruffles. My advice would be to make little ruffles. I started out making the ruffles very tall but it uses more material and takes a little bit longer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-7iNhHXBasxHJ4bNIfCVtlxoCelB71AO_dswee-nxvuGhLfD6B84i81x_LdsEgdXRqRxchff2kxU-ITxEkg6_agCdpZnSHWISdjajydQ4UtLMLoE0g3aQ2XPSc22iYvs9sKUEKMjnxp6I/s1600/DSCN9370.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-7iNhHXBasxHJ4bNIfCVtlxoCelB71AO_dswee-nxvuGhLfD6B84i81x_LdsEgdXRqRxchff2kxU-ITxEkg6_agCdpZnSHWISdjajydQ4UtLMLoE0g3aQ2XPSc22iYvs9sKUEKMjnxp6I/s640/DSCN9370.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
So if you make the ruffles shorter, it goes a little quicker and doesn't use as much material. <a href="http://www.sweethomehelena.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Anna</a> phrased it: "Less ruffle, less fabric being used." Something like that. She's very wise.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsxWGle8JlnkO10jPzqhwjfFghyk6oR4isybtu4cj34NOLA1mYZGS4pb_mL638lN47QPpBYuWt76IRySrvJY8q0obeXtvaB_-q0Qu9ZgzrqIkkRS8WwNKh_hHmO8bDvydx1_9pjTHXGm8M/s1600/DSCN9372.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsxWGle8JlnkO10jPzqhwjfFghyk6oR4isybtu4cj34NOLA1mYZGS4pb_mL638lN47QPpBYuWt76IRySrvJY8q0obeXtvaB_-q0Qu9ZgzrqIkkRS8WwNKh_hHmO8bDvydx1_9pjTHXGm8M/s640/DSCN9372.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Keep going and going and going, alternating fabric between rows. Saturday morning I moved to the kitchen table because hunching over on the floor was taking a toll on my back. <br />
<br />
A couple hours later, this is what I had....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUqYzFF9K7cgR1E1G3cgjKJeZReDS2IjErt2AWQoq3q1QiujEkPx5B2rjzUgt7egvUtJvYBgC6p2kS72hIb-GRQ2gvj7nyxQ7QD-xWWS6rAKOHk03wXNofeFsBxBxUhcrCprGir15k8zQy/s1600/DSCN9379.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUqYzFF9K7cgR1E1G3cgjKJeZReDS2IjErt2AWQoq3q1QiujEkPx5B2rjzUgt7egvUtJvYBgC6p2kS72hIb-GRQ2gvj7nyxQ7QD-xWWS6rAKOHk03wXNofeFsBxBxUhcrCprGir15k8zQy/s640/DSCN9379.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />

Ingredients:<br />
~ 1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter<br />
~ 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar<br />
~ 1 cup sugar<br />
~ 2 large eggs<br />
~ 1 tablespoon vanilla extract<br />
~ 3 1/2 cups flour<br />
~ 1 teaspoon salt<br />
~ 1 teaspoon baking soda<br />
~ 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips<br />
~ 1 package of Oreos (I used Publix brand but didn't love them...no offense Publix, or Kalie)<br />
<br />
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.<br />
<br />
